“I have reached a new level in my work”

Henric Hartler in Vellinge, Skåne, has been driving an excavator since his early youth. In 2022, he bought a new machine equipped with an automatic quick-coupler system and tiltrotator from OilQuick. He couldn't be more pleased with the investment.

– I'm delighted. I would never be able to go back to not having OilQuick. No way. I feel like I've reached the next level, says Henric Hartler, who is a self-employed excavator operator in Vellinge, Skåne.

The machine that Henric invested in is a new Hitachi ZX135US-7 track excavator with many extra options such as double exhaust pipes, personal foiling and a OQTR-E19 tiltrotator and OQ60 mount. This is Henric's fourth Hitachi, but the first newly produced machine and also the first with a quick-coupler system from OilQuick. The reason why he wanted a quick-coupler system was that he found it difficult to switch hoses and connectors every time he had to change hydraulic tools. Oftentimes, he would "cheat" by continuing to drive with, for example, the sorting bucket, even though he actually should have switched to a normal bucket.
– I didn't think it was worth it to go out and switch. But now that I have OilQuick, I can easily detach and attach tools, which means that I always have the right tool for every occasion. This also applies to the tiltrotator. If I need to be able to tilt and rotate my tool, I can attach it, and when I need more power, I can simply remove it, he says.

The work that Henric does is often very varied. Among other things, he does a lot of his own work on the agricultural side. Examples include digging for machine halls, stables, turnpikes, drainage as well as cleaning streams and dikes. He also drives a lot for NCC.
– I see advantages in having OilQuick in all my jobs, but above all in my own jobs. I really need it there. For the other jobs, it will be a bonus, he says.

The choice fell on OilQuick because it is the brand he believes in the most.
– OilQuick is well proven, has been around for a long time and stands for high quality. I have many colleagues in the industry who have used it for many years, and they only have positive things to say. For me, that is the most important thing. If they are satisfied, there is a good chance that I will be too, he says.

One thing that Henric appreciates about OilQuick's system is that it is not necessary to have an OilQuick mount, since there are also traditional outlets.
–  There may be certain special occasions when I need to borrow or rent a tool that doesn’t have it. Then it is easy to just be able to connect the hoses. I think it's good that this possibility exists, so that you don't lock yourself completely to OilQuick.

He also likes the modern technology for switching tools.
– The touch screen inside the cabin is really great. That’s not something I’m used to. Earlier, it was much more complicated with pedals, rollers and the like. Now, I just hold my finger on the screen button for a little while to activate opening or locking. The system also tells you when it doesn't sit right. Then it is not possible to lock it, and when it fits correctly, it locks easily. It's very simple, but feels foolproof, he says.

To others who are considering investing in OilQuick, Henric has only one thing to say.
– I understand that it is a big step to take, but take the step. If you're going to sit in the machine yourself and drive it, I really think it's worth the money. Quality costs. The same goes for excavators. There are cheap machines, and then there are expensive machines, he says.
